Winners announced for kumquat recipes

Twenty-one entries were received for this year's fourth annual Kumquat recipe contest. Products were tasted and judged Jan. 19 by the Extension Family Consumer science agents Betsy Crisp and Helen Webb. The winners are:

Ground breaking

East Pasco Habitat for Humanity will break ground at 11 a.m. Saturday on a home that is being built in partnership with Maria O'Neal and family on Osceola Street in Dade City. For information about Habitat or to volunteer, call (352) 567-1444.

Get-together

The Jefferson County Picnic Association of New York State will hold its 49th annual get-together from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Lion's Club on Dean Dairy Road, Zephyrhills. Bring a dish to pass, beverage and table service. All Jefferson County residents, former residents and guests are welcome to attend.

Book sale

The Zephyrhills Public Library holds a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the first Saturday of each month a the Depot Museum, 39110 South Ave., Zephyrhills.

Computer class

A computer basics class is held at 3 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m. Saturdays at Zephyrhills Library, 5347 Eighth St. Registration is required and can be made by calling (813) 782-1451.
