    Barbershop quartets will deliver singing valentines

    Barbershop quartets will deliver old-fashioned love songs such as I Love You Truly and Let Me Call You Sweetheart in four-part harmony to homes, offices, hospitals or wherever that special sweetheart may be Feb. 11-14. Members of the Palm Harbor Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, a non-profit organization, will perform the songs.     Senior agency looking for volunteer drivers

    Can you drive a van? Or visit someone who needs companionship? Neighborly Senior Services, which is based in Clearwater but serves Pinellas County, is looking for volunteers to drive seniors to and from doctor appointments. NSS also needs volunteers to go into seniors' homes to socialize, read the newspaper or books to them, sort mail and possibly go grocery shopping for them.     Bingo returns to St. Dunstan's church

    LARGO -- Tuesday bingo games sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10094 and its Ladies Auxiliary have returned to St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 10888 126th Ave. N. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at noon by the auxiliary. Every Tuesday, one game benefits the de Paul School for Dyslexia. The bingo games are smoke-free events.     Jaycees schedule information meeting

    The Palm Harbor Jaycees, a non-profit organization that uses community service programs to develop leadership skills in people 21 through 39, will hold an information meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday at Anclote Boulevard Park in Holiday.

    Recycle cans, help Habitat program

    ST. PETERSBURG -- Pinellas Habitat for Humanity has teamed up with the Aluminum Association to help families who need housing.

    Families, churches, clubs and businesses are asked to collect empty food, beverage and pet food cans and recycle them. The proceeds will go toward Habitat for Humanity. There are five recycling centers throughout Pinellas County serving as collection sites for the project.

    Gulf Coast Community Care needs volunteers

    CLEARWATER -- The Gulf Coast Community Care Program, based in Clearwater, is looking for volunteers for two of its programs:

    The Adopt-A-Grandchild program needs mature adults 50 and older to spend time with children on a one-to-one basis. It requires from two to four hours a week to establish a close, loving relationship with the child.

    Linking Lifetimes needs volunteers 35 and older who would spend two to four hours a week participating in various activities with a child, acting as a role model and a mentor.

    Residence offers housing for low-income seniors

    DUNEDIN -- Milwaukee Grove House, 653 Scotland Ave., Dunedin, has a few openings for low-income seniors who can care for themselves but no longer wish to live alone.

    The residence also needs volunteers to read, visit with residents, play cards and do yard work. For information, call (727) 736-6632.

    Gift, craft shop features work of senior citizens

    CLEARWATER -- More than 100 senior citizens make the unique handcrafted gifts sold at the County Senior Citizens Crafts and Gifts Shop, 940 Court St. The cooperative gift shop is sponsored by the Senior Citizens Services Inc. of Pinellas County.

    Among the items for sale are baby clothes, woodcrafts, quilts and afghans, and kitchen and household gifts. There also is a year-round Christmas section. For information, call (727) 442-8104.
