Eagle commits to I-AA school

East Lake's Chris Thomas has orally committed to Appalachian State, a Division I-AA school in Boone, N.C.

As a quarterback for the Eagles, Thomas rushed for 621 yards on 70 carries with six touchdowns and passed for 670 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Thomas (5 feet 9, 180 pounds) is expected to play wide receiver for the Mountaineers.
