Poets club to meet Friday at Barnes & Noble

The Poets and Artist Guild of Brandon will present "Simply Written Rhyming Words" at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 122 Brandon Town Center Drive. Garden club to host horticultural program

The Tampa Federation of Garden Club Circles will meet for a horticultural presentation at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tampa Garden Center, 2629 Bayshore Blvd. Master gardeners Maria Martine Roe and Fernando Villapol will discuss "Flowering Vines and Hedges." Children's Gasparilla Parade to invade Tampa

The annual Ye Loyal Krewe of Grace O'Malley Children's Gasparilla Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in downtown Tampa. The event will feature marching bands, parade floats and more than 2,000 children tossing candy, coins and beads to spectators. The parade route begins at Morgan and Madison streets, proceeds west on Madison to Tampa Street, and finishes at Tampa and Tyler streets. For information, call (813) 274-8615.

Humphrey Street drainage to be discussed at meeting

Hillsborough County staff will hold a meeting to discuss drainage improvements along Humphrey Street at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria at Crestwood Elementary School, 7824 N Manhattan Ave. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting. For information, call (813) 272-5275.
