Classes show parents how to read to the very young

The Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System is offering free classes at branch libraries to teach parents how to read books to children from ages newborn to 2 years old. The classes will focus on books, stories, songs and finger games.

Here are the libraries that will host the classes: Lutz, 101 Lutz-Lake Fern Road, 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 7, 14; Austin Davis, 17808 Wayne Road in Odessa, 10 a.m. Thursdays, Feb. 8, 15; Jimmie B. Keel, 2902 W Bearss Ave., 10 a.m. Mondays, March 19, 26 and April 2, 9; Temple Terrace, 202 Bullard Parkway, 10:30 a.m. Mondays, April 23, 30 and May 7, 14; West Gate Regional, 7606 Paula Drive, 10 a.m. Wednesdays, April 25 and May 2, 9, 16; North Tampa, 8916 N Boulevard, 10 a.m. Thursdays, May 3, 10, 17, 24.
