Vanbiesbrouck deal?

Compiled from Times wires

DENVER -- Goalie John Vanbiesbrouck never thought about leaving the Islanders, then general manager Mike Milbury gave him permission to contact playoff contenders regarding a trade.

"He really is undecided," agent Lloyd Friedland said Saturday. "I think he's torn."

The 17-year veteran doesn't want to leave his family but never played for a Stanley Cup winner.

Among possible suitors are the Penguins and Red Wings.
