The program included pet first aid, pet nutrition, dog and cat anatomy and behavior, office procedures, and client relations. Jody Broom and Lorene Logan, who form the Realty Express Team at RE/MAX Realty One, announced that they finished the year with more than $8-million in closed sales. The team specializes in residential sales in the Riverhaven and Sugarmill Woods communities. CLM Works has announced that Charlotte Hearn was selected as the director for the One Stop Career Connection. She will manage the Career Connection activities, identify and solve problems related to delivery of services, and coordinate and functionally manage the activities of partner agencies. Kathy Judkins was selected as the director for the One Stop Employer Connection. She will manage the Employer Connection, serve as the liaison with the Economic Development Councils, and manage employer interface with the One Stop Career Centers and One Stop Career Connection. Lisa Trapp was selected as the associate director for workforce initiatives. She will assist with management of CLM Works' programs and activities, implement training and development activities, and develop new programs for client needs. * * * The Bank of Inverness made the following announcements: Pauline Ritter was presented a diamond Bank of Inverness service pin for 25 years of outstanding service. Nora Fields was promoted to assistant branch manager at the 44 West Branch and Linda Heter was promoted to assistant head bookkeeper at the main office. Fields was selected as employee of the year for the bank in 1991, 1994, and 1997. Heter has worked in the bookkeeping department at the bank since 1995. Julie Eckstein was promoted to an officer's position of assistant cashier. Eckstein joined the bank in 1995. * * * Walt Driggers, CAI, AARE, president of Tranzon Driggers was a featured speaker at the 13th annual Auction Marketing Institute winter seminar in Steamboat Springs, Colo. His topic was "Changing Your Business to Meet Today's Challenges." Driggers presented a session which focused on building a high-quality, results-oriented auction marketing team. * * * Nature Coast Lodge Assisted Living Residence has announced the hiring of a resident care director, Tina L. Russ. Russ, a lifelong county resident, has 12 years experience as a licensed practical nurse, working with the elderly. * * * Ann Burch, public relations director and researcher/writer for the Nature Coast Tourism Development, attended a workshop sponsored by FLA USA-Visit Florida. The January workshop in Steinhatchee in Taylor County focused on the fundamentals of marketing for tourism success. A unique feature of the business is digital photography. 563-1900. * * * Nature Coast Tourism and Development Inc. has received confirmation from the state Department of Agriculture that they have been issued a Sellers of Travel registration certificate by the Division of Consumer Services for the purpose of selling tour and travel packages with primary targets on the eco-tourism available in the county. * * * CFCC will be offering Criminal Justice Standards and Training Combined Training Academy between May 8 and Dec. 11 for individuals interested in becoming corrections or law enforcement officers. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to sit for the state licensing exam. For an appointment, call 621-0775. * * * Nature Coast Tourism Development Inc. will be participating in the grand opening celebration of the Florida Travel and Visitor's Centre scheduled for Feb. 9-11. Along with various hotels and attractions in the county, Nature Coast will provide free eco-tourism packages to three winners. The packages include a two-night, three-day stay for two adults at either the Days Inn, Comfort Inn or The Port Hotel & Marina in Crystal River. Also included in the package is an eco-tour river cruise, Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park and Ted Williams Museum & Hitters Hall of Fame in Hernando.
