You choose the better one

In its February issue, Sports Illustrated for Kids matched up athletes in five sports and is asking readers to vote for who's better. Tampa Bay Buccaneer Keyshawn Johnson is up against Minnesota Viking Randy Moss. Kids can vote using a ballot inside the magazine or on the Internet at http://www.sikids.com. The results will be published in a future issue.

Aaron Carter coming in concert

Nick's little brother Aaron Carter takes over the spotlight Friday at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Aaron, born in Tampa, now lives in California. He's touring in support of his latest CD, Aaron's Party (Come Get It). He was recently nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award in the "Favorite Rising Star" category. Tickets to the 7 p.m. show are $5 (plus fair admission) at the Fairgrounds box office or Ticketmaster.

Hold off before cleaning your room

If your parents refer to your bedroom as a "disaster zone," you may be a perfect candidate for America's Messiest Kid's Room Contest. To enter, parents must send in a photo of their kid's untidy room and the best (or worst) 25-word excuse their child gives when asked to clean it. Entries will be judged by a panel including Denise Muniz, mother of Frankie Muniz, who stars in TV's Malcolm in the Middle. Official entry forms and contest rules are available at participating Ace Hardware stores or online at http://www.acehardware.com. Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2001.

TV show highlights teens

The View's Lisa Ling hosts Teen People's 20 Teens Who Will Change The World on the WB network (WTTA-Ch. 38) Friday at 9 p.m. The show profiles tennis player Serena Williams, singer Mandy Moore and actor Kirsten Dunst. Also profiled is 18-year-old choreographer Wade Robson, who has changed the face of pop music by giving acts such as Britney Spears, 'N Sync and Sisqo their dance moves.

New 'N Sync products on the market

A line of lip balm featuring the five faces of 'N Sync hits stores this month. Each guy has his own flavor: Lance is blue raspberry, JC is watermelon, Chris is strawberry, Joey is green apple and Justin is vanilla. Each lip balm package of five flavors sells for $4.99 at stores including Spencer Gifts, Limited Too, Claire's and Circle K.

Also new, but available only at Wal-Mart stores for now, are three new 'N Sync toys: Game of Beads, Sackers and Sticker Fanatic. Each game sells for $6. These products join the 'N Sync Backstage Pass board game ($24) that's been in many stores for a while.
