Rugrats in Paris

SYSTEM: Nintendo 64

MAKER: THQ

PRICE: $49.99

As a game strictly for kids, Rugrats isn't bad. All of the characters are here, along with a few fun and moderately challenging mini-games. Parents may even be able to handle this one.

Grade: C+

Rugrats in Paris

SYSTEM: PlayStation

MAKER: THQ

PRICE: $39.99

This one is exactly the same as the Nintendo 64 version, but with watered-down graphics. It's an adequate game for kids.

Grade: C+

NASCAR 2001

SYSTEM: PlayStation 2

MAKER: EASports

PRICE: $49.99

The first NASCAR game for PS2 has sharp graphics, as expected, to go with some stunning crashes. True racing fans will enjoy it, but they should be sure to add a steering wheel.

Grade: B

NFL GameDay 2001

SYSTEM: PlayStation 2

MAKER: 989 Sports

PRICE: $49.99

If Madden 2001 was a Super Bowl contender, then GameDay is the Browns. The graphics are okay, but the game play is woeful compared with other next-generation football titles.

Grade: D

Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness

SYSTEM: PlayStation

MAKER: Namco

PRICE: $39.99

It's Pac-Man in 3-D, with a little bow. To my surprise, this one feels a lot like the original and includes some neat maze additions, such as spring and locked doors.

Grade: B

Barbie: Magic Genie Adventure

SYSTEM: Game Boy Color

MAKER: Mattel

PRICE: $39.99

This game is fairly simplistic. Barbie flies around on her carpet, collects items and talks to people. There's no originality involved, but it may work as a diversion.

Grade: C
