Rays Uniforms

© St. Petersburg Times, published February 6, 2001

ST. PETERSBURG -- The Devil Rays will give fans the new shirts off their backs today.

The Rays are unveiling their new uniforms in a 5:30 p.m. public gathering at the new BayWalk entertainment complex in downtown St. Petersburg. (Expect to see green trim and a sleeveless vest alternative jersey; don't expect to see the word Devil, which supposedly is being dropped.)

Four Rays players will be there to model the new threads, and the Rays will raffle off the four tops, at no charge, to lucky fans. General manager Chuck LaMar and MLB design whiz Anne Occi will be there, too.

Rays players also will be at the team stores in WestShore Plaza and Brandon TownCenter from 7:30-9 tonight.
