Three hospitalized after crash on SR 50

RIDGE MANOR -- Three people were sent to the hospital Tuesday night after a car accident just west of Ridge Manor.

Rene Grodin, 75, of Ridge Manor was driving west on State Road 50 and tried to turn left onto Cyril Drive in front of another car, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.

The two collided, and both the driver and the passenger of the other car -- Princess McCalop, 34, and Calvin Baker, 39, both of Brooksville -- were ejected from their vehicle. Meanwhile, Grodin's van overturned and hit a stop sign. All three were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. Grodin remained in critical condition Wednesday, and McCalop was in fair condition.

Hospital officials said they could not locate any information on Baker.
