Spring training starts in just a couple of weeks, so the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are kicking off the new season with their annual Fan Fest. The event, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, gives thousands of fans a chance to get player autographs, tour the clubhouse and talk about the new season.
Fan Fest also is the first time individual game tickets for this season will be available.
Other activities include the Club MLB Roadshow, a multimillion-dollar interactive fantasy baseball camp and exhibit, sort of the baseball version of the NFL Experience; Major League Baseball's Yardball, which is played on an inflatable field with hollow plastic balls and bats; the Extreme Rays zone, with inflatable baseball-related games; a rock-climbing wall; and lots of other games.
It's all free, including the parking, at Tropicana Field, 16th Street and Fifth Avenue S, St. Petersburg. (727) 825-3137 or (888) 326-7297.
