Best betsBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published February 9, 2001 GLASS SHOW: Members of Florida's Sparkling Clearwater Depression Glass Club will present their 22nd annual show and sale Saturday and Sunday at Harborview Center in Clearwater. The theme for this year's event is Rainbow of Colors. The show will feature Depression-era glass, china and pottery. Twenty-eight dealers from around the country will sell unusual and interesting items. The club booth will sell glass made from 1928 through 1960. Reproductions and new glass will also be sold. Door prizes will be handed out each hour. Free glass identifications will be available and a raffle will be held. The $4 admission is good for both days. Present an ad or flier about the show and get 50 cents off the admission. Parking is free. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. PUPPET SHOW: The Frog Prince Center Players will present Pinocchio, a traditional full-length puppet show based on the Italian classic, The Adventures of Pinocchio at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Frog Prince Puppetry Arts Center and Theater. The show, featuring hand-carved wooden marionettes, is suitable for children age 5 and older. Tickets cost $5 for adults, and $3 for children. The Frog Prince Theater is at 210 S. FILM FESTIVAL: Don't miss the third annual Sol Peska Film Festival this weekend in Tarpon Springs. At 7 tonight at the Tarpon Springs Public Library, 138 E. Lemon St., you are invited to attend a gala presentation featuring a free showing of the documentary A Tickle in the Heart. The film tells the story of the Epstein Brothers, the kings of Klezmer music in New York City. At 2 p.m. Sunday,also at the library, the film Amarcord will be shown. This subtitled movie, directed by Federico Fellini, recalls his youth in Rimini, a small Italian town, before World War II. A donation is requested. At 4 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S. Pinellas Ave., Babette's Feast, a heart-warming story of a humble Danish cook who prepares a glorious feast for her neighbors, will be shown.
