Tourist group keeps PR firm

The Tourist Development Council took a few steps forward at its meeting Thursday.
The TDC voted to retain for a year Communication Solutions, the Tampa-based company that has done its public relations and marketing work for the past two years. The TDC also directed that firm to come up with a list of the services it has rendered under its $60,000 in contracts with the TDC.
Communication Solutions, under the direction of the TDC, also will be working on a list of goals and objectives that would fit with the mission statement that the TDC adopted: to maximize the economic impact and quality of the visitors' experience.
Communication Solutions also is developing a Web site that would promote the county's natural, cultural and sports opportunities, and provide links to various events and organizations.
