Recording artist to give free concert, sermon

Internationally known Christian recording artist and speaker Wendell Phipps will be in concert at the Hernando Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1880 N Trucks Ave., at 5:30 p.m. today.The concert is free; a love offering will be taken. Phipps will also be the featured speaker at the church's worship service at 11 a.m. and will perform a special musical selection. The service will be followed by a fellowship luncheon.

Saxophone quartet schedules performance

First United Methodist Church of Homosassa will present the Bay Area Saxophone Quartet on Feb. 18, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5. For ticket information, call the church office at 628-4083; 8831 W Bradshaw St.

Church needs items for annual rummage sale

St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Crystal River is having its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

The sale is being conducted by the Episcopal Church Women who will offer items such as: clothing, books, linens, trash and treasure, and a special boutique table with collectible items. Refreshments are also available. Bring along any donations to the sale if you wish. Fort Island Trail, 1 mile west of the Plantation Inn.

Revival service features inspirational speaker, music

Inspirational speaker John Riley is presenting revival services today and Sunday at Crystal River United Methodist Church. Riley is a frequent speaker in the Florida Conference and at spiritual retreats. He has spoken across the United States and in 11 other countries. Music will be provided tonight by Soul Seekers. Services today include a prayer breakfast at 8 a.m., a youth event at 1 p.m., a service at 7 p.m.; Sunday services are at 8, 9:10, and 10:30 a.m.

Annual mission conference will have global flavor

Faith Baptist Church of Homosassa Springs will be holding its annual mission conference on Wednesday through Sunday.

Attending the conference will be the director of Global Fund, Baptist Missions along with missionaries from Brazil, Venezuela, Canada and South Africa. Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and on Sunday during regular services at 9:45 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Friday, there will be an "International Night" pot-luck dinner. T-shirt, health screening given to all blood donors

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church will be hosting its quarterly blood drive from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Parish Life Center.

The drive is open to all members of the parish as well as to all of Citrus County, with the credit for the donation going to the organization of the donor's choice. All donors will receive a commemorative T-shirt as well as a complimentary mini-physical and a cholesterol screening. Donors must be 17 or older, weigh at least 103 pounds and present a valid photo ID.
