    Defibrillators to be luncheon topic

    SEMINOLE -- Defibrillators, which shock a heart attack victim's heart back to life, will be the topic at the 11:30 a.m. luncheon meeting Thursday of the Greater Seminole Area Chamber of Commerce. The luncheon will be at Banquet Masters, 8100 Park Blvd. in Seminole. The speakers will be James Fogarty, deputy chief of the Clearwater Fire and Rescue Department, Bill Parks, a Pinellas County safety specialist and Jim Gregg, a registered nurse. The talk will be in conjunction with the American Heart Association. The luncheon's cost is $10. To sign up, call the chamber office at 392-3245.

    Miss Seminole pageant is Feb. 24

    SEMINOLE -- The public is invited to the Miss Seminole 2001 Scholarship Pageant at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Osceola High School Auditorium, 9751 98th St. N in Seminole. The pageant is an official Miss America preliminary pageant. The cost to attend is $7, which includes a donation to the Miss Seminole scholarship fund. Tickets are available at the office of the Greater Seminole Area Chamber of Commerce, 8400 113th St. N, or at the door on the night of the pageant.
