    Men face sex abuse charges in two separate cases

    Two Largo men were arrested this week in connection with unrelated charges of child sex abuse, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies reported. Jarrod R. Whitmore, 19, of 12101 Archer Way, was arrested on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation, according to jail records. Whitmore is accused of having unlawful sexual contact with a girl under the age 16, according to arrest reports. In a separate case, Robert Allen Hickey, 18, of 9281 86th Way N, was charged with lewd or lascivious battery, according to jail records. Hickey also is accused of having unlawful sexual contact with a girl under the age 16, according to arrest reports.

    Sales manager to discuss how a radio station works

    BELLEAIR -- Joe Corbett, sales manager for radio station WLLD, 98.7 FM, will talk about workings of a radio station at the Feb. 14 luncheon program of the National Society of Arts and Letters. The program will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Belleair Country Club. Cost of the luncheon is $20 a person. For reservations, call 794-4708 or 791-6822. The society annually sponsors a local competition in the arts and the winner competes in a national competition. This year's contest is in sculpture and the winner and his or her work will be sent to Pittsburgh to compete for the $10,000 top prize.
