TAMPA -- With nine wrestlers in the finals and four in the consolations, Bloomingdale left nothing but second place available for the other six teams at the Class 3A, District 7 tournament Friday night.

All 13 Bulls qualified for the 3A regional tournament Feb. 16 and 17 in Orlando.

The Bulls crowned five individual champions and scored 230 1/2 points for the team title.

David Mason (125) and Joe Dinzeo (189) scored pins in their championship finals while other Bulls champs included Gabe Bartolomei (145), Nick Miles (119) and Justin Diaz (160).

Despite bringing just nine wrestlers to the tournament and finishing in sixth place with 100 points, River Ridge will send six to regionals.

Nate Way (215) was the only individual champion for the Royal Knights after scoring a 16-7 major decision over Durant's Max Christian.

The team also had four second-place finishers in Tommy Parente (119), Mark Boice (140), John Gilmore (189) and Joey Mayo (275).

Matt Lee (160) will also make the trip after a third-place finish.

"I think we wrestled well today," River Ridge coach Mike DeGennaro said.

"It was a tough district; we only dropped three of the nine we brought and hopefully some of them will qualify for state."
