TAMPA -- Armed robbers have again burst into a home in eastern Hillsborough, terrorized its residents and run off with money. This time, two gunmen kicked in the unlocked front door of a home at 2253 Jaudon Road about 9:30 p.m. Friday. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash from the six residents.
Lt. Harold Winsett said he doesn't know whether Friday's robbery is related to eight others, but "it's very, very similar. I can tell you the descriptions are very similar and the circumstances are similar to the others."
No injuries were reported. Sheriff's deputies say the robbers apparently target the homes of migrant farm workers in the Dover area. The invasions began Dec. 22.
One robber was a 6-foot Hispanic male weighing about 175 pounds. He wore a black ski mask, black long-sleeve T-shirt, blue jeans and black and white athletic shoes. He carried a chrome revolver. No description was available of the other robber. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or (800) 873-8477.
