Climbing the ladder

Pender Newkirk & Co., Tampa, announced the following promotions: Gail A. Larkin, senior accountant/tax department; Mark D. Pichowski, tax manager/tax department; and J. Scott Robey, senior tax manager/tax department. Larkin previously served as staff accountant; Pichowski, tax senior; and Robey, tax manager.


First Commercial Bank of Tampa announced the following appointments: Jordan L. German, president; and Albert M. Salem Jr., chief executive. German previously served as executive vice president for First Kensington Bank; and Salem, chairman and chief executive of First Commercial Bank's holding company, FCB Financial Inc.


Terry Manrique has been promoted to general manager for the Tampa branch of Comfort Systems USA Florida Inc. Manrique previously served as sales manager/assistant branch manager.

Southern Power & Controls Corp., Tampa, announced the following appointments: Bill Cochran, project manager; Bill Gregory, vice president of operations; and Karen Neilson, senior estimator. Cochran previously served as project superintendent for Metro Power Inc., Athens, Ga.; Gregory, branch manager for Hayes & Lunsford Electrical Contractor Inc., Asheville, N.C.; and Neilson, estimator for Olson Electric Co., Daytona Beach.


Neighborly Senior Services Inc., Clearwater, announced the following appointments: Jeffry H. Stoker, human resources director; and Roxanne Young, vice president of quality improvement. Stoker previously worked for Kforce, Tampa. Young previously served as quality assurance manager.


Karen McFarlin has been named National Executive Director of the Year by Senior Lifestyle Corp. McFarlin is executive director of Balmoral Assisted Living Community, Palm Harbor.

Doug Raucy has been appointed chief operating officer for the Institute for Business and Home Safety. Raucy is a senior manager for Allstate Corp.

Real estate

Sandy Carney has been inducted into the Re/Max International Hall of Fame. Carney has 23 years of real estate experience and is employed by Re/Max Realtec Group Inc., Palm Harbor.


Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc., Clearwater, announced the following appointments: Wendy A. Beck, chief financial officer; and Brian R. Doster, vice president and secretary. Beck previously served as vice president of finance and treasurer; Doster will continue to serve as Checker's corporate counsel in addition to his new appointment.


Bob Lawten has been appointed senior vice president of marketing for Q-Link Technologies, Tampa. Lawten previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for LEX2000 Inc., Atlanta.


Roxann W. Moore has been appointed executive vice president and division manager of corporate and commercial banking for SunTrust Bank. Moore previously served as senior vice president and department manager of commercial banking. Moore's title was misidentified in last week's Climbing the Ladder.
