Video game reviewsBy ROBB GUIDO © St. Petersburg Times, published February 12, 2001 Frogger 2SYSTEM: Game Boy MAKER: Hasbro Interactive PRICE: $29.99 Frogger 2 enhances the graphics of its predecessor and adds dozens of levels. Now, not only does Frogger have to avoid cars and trucks but also spiders and traps. It takes fast reflexes to win. Grade: B+ Frogger 2SYSTEM: PlayStation MAKER: Hasbro Interactive PRICE: $39.99 Frogger 2 for PlayStation tries to expand the original by adding slick graphics and more complicated levels. In this case, simplicity was more fun. Grade: C Lego Alpha TeamSYSTEM: Game Boy Color MAKER: Lego Media PRICE: $29.99 This game has players trying to lead their Lego guy through levels by using his special skills. The puzzles are somewhat clever, but there's not too much action. Grade: B- Road ChampsSYSTEM: Game Boy Color MAKER: Activision PRICE: $29.99 Road Champs stands as one of the most polished sports titles for Game Boy in quite a while. Players can perform 50 tricks with two buttons over 27 well-designed courses, and it looks good. Grade: A- Star Wars DemolitionSYSTEM: PlayStation MAKER: LucasArts PRICE: $39.99 It's vehicular combat using Star Wars means of transportation. Demolition comes from the makers of Vigilante 8, but it isn't nearly as deep. The play control and graphics aren't anything to write home about. Grade: D NASCAR HeatSYSTEM: PlayStation MAKER: Hasbro Interactive PRICE: $39.99 NASCAR Heat has everything in terms of pro drivers, cars and tracks, as well as excellent game play. The graphics and sound drag it down, but fans probably won't care too much. Grade: B-
