Firehouse Museum offers group toursBy © St. Petersburg Times, published February 13, 2000 LARGO -- The Kid's Firehouse Museum at 9510 Firehouse Ave., Largo, has openings for tours for groups of children up to age 10. Participants are taught fire safety, watch a safety video, receive free memorabilia, and tour the facility, which includes 11 antique firetrucks and a playground designed to teach fire safety. Workshop for literacy tutors planned The Literacy Council of Upper Pinellas is sponsoring a workshop in February to train volunteer tutors to teach basic literacy to English speaking, non-reading adults. Sale to benefit Stars of TomorrowLARGO -- Vendors are needed for a flea market and garage sale March 18 on the grounds of Highland Complex, 400 Highland Ave. NE. The event is being sponsored by the Stars of Tomorrow, a dance troupe under the auspices of the Largo Recreation and Parks Department.
