SHERRY ATWOOD, SEVEN RIVERS BASKETBALL

One week after scoring 74 points in three games, Atwood outdid herself.

In two games, the 5-foot-7 senior guard combined to score 66 points, roughly 63 percent of the Warriors' total output. Atwood hit for 42 points in a 71-35 win against Ocala Shores Christian in a Class A, District 3 semifinal, then recorded 24 points and seven steals in a 42-34 loss to Mount Dora Bible in the final.

"I told her to get the ball and take the shot, and I told the rest of the girls to set picks and screens -- anything to get her open," Seven Rivers coach Tom Evans said after the loss to Mount Dora Bible.

Atwood's point total against Shores Christian was a career high and school record. It allowed her to surpass 1,000 career points.
