Power upgrade set for Sugarmill Woods area

HOMOSASSA -- Florida Power will spend $500,000 this spring to upgrade equipment that supplies electricity to the Sugarmill Woods area, the company said Wednesday. The work is intended to reduce the number and length of service interruptions at the subdivision.

The company will replace more than a half mile of underground cable that has deteriorated with age. Protective equipment to be installed in major circuits will minimize outages, the utility said in a news release. Some customers may experience brief outages during the day.
