Man in cap robs AmSouth Bank
TARPON SPRINGS -- A man robbed the AmSouth Bank at 40786 U.S. 19 on Wednesday morning, police said. He passed a note to a teller implying that he had a weapon and took an undisclosed amount of money, police Sgt. Tom Hill said. He left the bank on foot before officers arrived, Hill said. The man is in his 30s or 40s, is about 6 feet tall, weighs 160 pounds and has dark hair, a mustache and a tan complexion, Hill said. He was wearing a red-and-blue flannel shirt, a faded, dark blue T-shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses. Police believe the man might be the same man who has robbed other banks in Pasco and Pinellas counties recently, said Sgt. Allen MacKenzie.
