If you can't get enough of HBO's Sex and the City, maybe Sex and Sensibility can help satisfy your curiosity about what makes women tick.

If you don't know already.

Sex and Sensibility is a musical that delves into what it is to be a woman drawn to a city to make something of herself. It's the story of three women who have tackled success, networking and close friends, but can't seem to pin down a good man.

And there don't seem to be any out there.

Faced with no callbacks, cheating husbands and a tired passive-aggressive singles scene, the three women go through bouts of hopelessness, bitterness and manic house cleaning.

The three actors, Christine Allocca, SuEllen Estey and Mindy Stover, represent three age groups: the new to the city 20-something seeking success and a big raise, the been-there-done-that career woman and the divorced, ultra-successful international businesswoman making up for time lost raising a family with an unfaithful man.

None of the characters has a name, and the city in which they live has no location. Picture any woman of any age in Any City, U.S.A.

Each actor has had considerable experience in theater. Allocca was Ellen in Miss Saigon on Broadway. Estey was in Sweeney Todd on Broadway. And Stover came from California, where she had considerable success, to audition for Sex and Sensibility in New York City.

The play was previously released as a part of the Gorilla Theater's Play Reading Series last year. It played to a sold-out house, so it was decided the piece should get full production this season. Director and choreographer Brett Smock is coordinating with local composer and lyricist Gil Perlroth, who wrote the text, music and lyrics.

Sex and Sensibility portrays the roller-coaster of sex, sensibility and life in the fast lane, woman-style: sometimes a bit boy-crazy, sometimes fiercely independent.
