Bethune-Cookman chorale to perform concert SundayBy Times staff writers © St. Petersburg Times, published February 17, 2001 The Bethune-Cookman College Concert Chorale will present a concert, 4 p.m. Sunday, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 2800 26th Ave. S. The chorale, which was organized by Mary McLeod Bethune in 1904 with six members, today has more than 150 students. It has performed overseas and throughout the United States. A freewill offering will be collected. Tibetan Buddhist monks to paint and performTibetan Buddhist monks from Drepun Loseling Monastery will construct a mandala sand painting Tuesday, 12:30 to 5 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Eckerd College's Griffin Chapel, 4200 54th Ave. S. The monks also will perform as part of their international tour of Sacred Music and Sacred Dance for World Healing at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N. Tickets are $11.
