A Spring Hill man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly paid a 13-year-old girl to perform sexual acts on him.

Peter Phillip Richard, of 1201 Desmond Ave. in Spring Hill, spent his 49th birthday in jail after the girl told authorities he paid her $300 to fondle him and let him perform acts on her, according to an arrest affidavit.

Richard faces counts of lewd and lascivious battery, molestation and exhibition, as well as charges of procuring a person younger than 16 for prostitution. He remained in jail Saturday on $60,000 bond.

Student's essay leads to arrest

A disturbing story written by a Fox Chapel Middle School student has led to the arrest of a U.S. Marine on sex charges.

Kenneth Lebron, 19, of 9442 Chase St. in Spring Hill, faces one count of sexual battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition after authorities say he forced a seventh-grader to perform acts on him.

Officials became suspicious when the girl's teacher read an essay written by the student describing possible sexual activity between her and Lebron. When confronted, the girl later told investigators that Lebron had been performing acts on her since she was 8 years old, a Hernando County sheriff's report said.

Lebron, stationed in Cherry Point, N.C., was taken to the Hernando County Jail, where he remained Saturday on $30,000 bond.
