Home buyer, credit rebuilding workshop setA free community home buyers and credit rebuilding workshop will be held in two sessions from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at The Greater Tampa Association of Realtors, 2918 W Kennedy Blvd. The workshop provides low to moderate income people with information about credit rebuilding, down payment and closing cost assistance programs. Support group plans cancer survivor workshopThe Spouses of Survivors Group, which is affiliated with the Florida Cancer Education Network, is sponsoring a free workshop from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Hillsborough Community College, 4001 Tampa Bay Blvd., Student Services Building, Room 108 just off N Dale Mabry Highway. Lecture series promotes toleranceRoy Kaplan, director of the National Conference for Community and Justice in Tampa Bay, will speak at the Teaching Tolerance Series. The first lecture series will be from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the John F. Germany Public Library, 900 N Ashley Drive. Kaplan will speak on "The Challenge of Diversity in a Free Society." The series is sponsored by the Greater Tampa Bay B'nai B'rith Unit 2603 and will be presented by attorney Bonnie A. Berns, in cooperation with the Tampa B'nai B'rith Anti-Hate Committee, chaired by Norman N. Gross. The lecture series will be held monthly in the library's Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium. The purpose of the series is to educate the public regarding prejudice against people based on their religion, race, national origin, sex, disability, age or their sexual preference, and to promote tolerance of all individuals.
