PORT RICHEY -- The Port Richey City Council will meet Wednesday afternoon to take a second and final vote on whether to add a referendum to the April 10 ballot giving council members a pay raise.
The special meeting is at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Custom Commerce Plaza at Ridge Road and Congress streets.
The council approved the ordinance on Feb. 8 on a 4-1 vote. Mayor Eloise Taylor voted against it. If the ordinance passes Wednesday, city voters would decided whether to approve a raise from $180 a month to $360 a month for City Council members. The last raise given to the council was in 1988, when they went from $150 to the current rate.
