Donovan, Ross among finalists

GAINESVILLE -- Florida men's basketball coach Billy Donovan and women's coach Carol Ross were named finalists for the Naismith College Coach of the Year, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Wednesday.

Donovan has led the Gators to a 19-5 record and No. 7 ranking despite several injuries to key players.

Ross has led the Gators to a 21-4 record this season, including 9-3 in the SEC. Florida returned to the top 10 and is aiming for its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance in nine years.

Among the 20 finalists are last year's winner, Geno Auriemma from Connecticut, and Tennessee's Pat Summitt.

Winners will be will be honored in Atlanta on April 7.
