Class 2A boys semifinal

Jesuit (28-2) vs. Gulf Breeze (25-4)

WHEN: 6 p.m. ADMISSION: $6

HOW THEY ADVANCED: Jesuit defeated Bartow 2-0, Palmetto 3-0 and Lake Gibson 2-1. Gulf Breeze defeated Crawfordville Wakulla 8-0, Jacksonville Englewood 3-1 and Gainesville Eastside 4-0.

THE SKINNY: Jesuit will start recently converted basketball player Stash Graham at keeper, replacing one of the state's best keepers, Justin Trowbridge, who is sidelined with mononucleosis. Graham, however, should do just fine considering he has vast experience playing for the Black Watch Soccer Club. Nonetheless, the Tigers' defense should take care of business. Jesuit comes in ranked No. 1 in the FACA state poll, No. 2 in the foxstudentsports.com national poll and No. 5 in the USA Today/NSCA national poll. Gulf Breeze is ranked No. 3 in the FACA poll.

Class 4A boys semifinal

Gaither (22-3-1) vs. Miami Sunset (27-1-3)

WHEN: 8 p.m. ADMISSION: $6

HOW THEY ADVANCED: Gaither defeated Sarasota Riverview 1-0, Vero Beach 4-1 and Stuart Martin County 5-0. Sunset defeated Miami High 5-2, Miami Springs 2-0 and Miami Coral Reef 2-1.

THE SKINNY: Defending state champ Gaither, led by national team pool player Bryce Wegerle, has played like a team possessed the past two games, defeating Vero Beach and Stuart Martin County by a combined 9-1. Tonight, however, the test is against Sunset, the state's No. 1-ranked team. This game could be considered the real state championship, and Gaither, with its recent dominant performances, has to be considered the favorite in its back yard.

Class 2A girls semifinal

East Bay (17-4-2) vs. Gulf Breeze (32-2)

WHEN: 6 p.m. ADMISSION: $6

HOW THEY ADVANCED: East Bay defeated Bartow 4-1, Tarpon Springs 3-2 and Lakewood 1-0 in penalty kicks. Gulf Breeze defeated Tallahassee Rickards 8-0, Jacksonville Stanton Prep 5-0 and Green Cove Springs Clay 1-0.

THE SKINNY: East Bay lost its only senior and leading scorer, Shawna Kramer, to a broken leg in Friday's regional final and now appears more of an underdog than ever. Gulf Breeze not only is the defending state champion, but it has won its three playoff games by a combined 14-0. The good news for East Bay, making its first appearance in the final four, is that this group doesn't seem overwhelmed by anything.

Class 4A girls semifinal

Bloomingdale (19-2-4) vs. Coral Gables (24-6)

WHEN: 3 p.m. ADMISSION: $6

HOW THEY ADVANCED: Bloomingdale defeated Sarasota Riverview 2-0, West Palm Beach Wellington 1-0 and Winter Park 2-1. Coral Gables defeated Miami Killian 2-0, Hialeah American 2-0 and Miami Springs 3-0.

THE SKINNY: The Bulls entered the playoffs as a district runner-up but defeated Sarasota Riverview, West Palm Beach Wellington and Winter Park on the road to reach the final four. Add Coral Gables to the list of extremely tough foes. Coral Gables lost 2-1 in last season's state final to Winter Park Lake Howell. But don't forget, Bloomingdale also made it to last season's state semifinals, where it lost 3-1 to Lake Howell in a game that was 1-1 until the final minutes.
