Group offers series of computer classes in March

LECANTO -- The Crystal River Users Group will offer a series of computer classes throughout March at CRUG's Education Center, Sunshine Plaza, 2067 N Lecanto Highway (at State Road 44 and County Road 491).

Call Betty at 746-2429 or Joyce at 746-6362 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. weekdays to register for any of the following classes:

Basic Home Page Design from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, March 6 through April 3: $35 for members or $40 for non-members.

Windows 1 (Basic) from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays, March 7 through April 4: $35 members or $40 non-members. A manual is included.

Window 3 (Advanced) from 2 to 4 p.m. Fridays, March 16 through April 13: $35 members and $40 non-members. A manual is included.

Microsoft Internet Explorer from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, March 7 through March 28: $30 members and $35 non-members. A manual is included.

Scanners and Graphics from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays, March 22 through April 5: $15 members and $20 non-members.

Understanding CD Writers from 9 a.m. to noon March 31: $15 members and $20 non members.

Will McLean Music Festival set for March

DADE CITY -- The Will McLean Music Festival will be from 10 a.m. to midnight March 10, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11 at Sertoma Youth Ranch near Dade City.

Admission is $17 for a weekend ticket before March 2. Send check payable to Will McLean Foundation and self-addressed, stamped envelope to Tickets, 20232 Palmetto Lane, Dunnellon, FL 34432.

Tickets at the gate are $20 weekend, $12 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday. Pay for camp sites on arrival.

Will McLean, who is considered the father of Florida folk music, died of cancer in 1990. He wrote about Florida's traditions and heritage and about how things used to be.

Art League to have benefit dinner with 'Napoleon'

HERNANDO -- The Citrus County Art League will sponsor a scholarship benefit dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the center, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., off County Road 486 west of Hernando.

The theme is "Dinner with Napoleon." Guests will join Napoleon on the battlefield after his victory at Marengo. Dinner will be chicken marengo, with napoleons for dessert. Marian Fox will give a presentation about Napoleon. Dinner is by reservation only. Cost is $25. Call Dottie at 628-6839. Call 746-7606.

Rainbow Springs Art Festival at park March 3-4

DUNNELLON -- The eighth annual Rainbow Springs Art Festival will be from 8:30 to 4:30 March 3-4 at Rainbow Springs State Park, U.S. 41 N, Dunnellon. Members of the Citrus Watercolor Club, the Beverly Hills Art Group and the Ocala Art Group will have entries for the show. Admission is $1.

Beverly Hills Art Group to meet Monday at library

BEVERLY HILLS -- The Beverly Hills Art Group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the Central Ridge Library in Beverly Hills. Guest demonstrator is George Sobota, watercolorist and instructor. Members can bring a recent framed painting for a vote on which one will be displayed at the library in March. The art group will have an art show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24 at the Beverly Hills Community Building, 1 Civic Circle. For information, call Cal at 527-9426.
