Benefit for Largo High student set for SundayBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published February 24, 2001 Friends of comatose Largo High School student Angela Bernardini will hold a benefit Sunday at the Drew Street Station in Clearwater that will feature four bands, a raffle and food specials. The event will kick off at 5 p.m. at the restaurant and lounge, 1717 Drew St. The public is invited. A $5 donation is required for entry. Proceeds will help Angela's family. The 17-year-old girl was critically injured in a Jan. 12 car accident in Clearwater. She has been in a coma at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. The driver accused of hitting her has been charged with drunken driving, running a red light and driving without a license, according to police. Bands playing at the event are the Black Honkeys, The Groove, Sheer Octavia and Partners in Crime.
