RESTAURANT BANKRUPT: It looks like the Goodfellas restaurant and bar in the Palm Lake shopping center in New Tampa is closed for good. The restaurant closed in December and posted a sign saying it was under renovation. But Delliponti Enterprises, doing business as Goodfellas, filed for Chapter 7 liquidation Jan. 9 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. An auction was scheduled Saturday to sell the restaurant's equipment, stools, tables, chairs and stoves, according to Dave Newman of AuctionMax. The auction house was hired by the restaurant's creditor, First Union Bank, said Laurie Kolka, office manager with AuctionMax. Pat and Vicki Sufka, who own the Goodfellas on Gunn Highway, opened the Palm Lake restaurant at 15363 Amberly Drive in 1992. They sold the restaurant in December 1999 to Land O'Lakes resident Nicholas Delliponti, who could not be reached for comment.

NAIL SHOP OPENS: A new nail salon has opened near Citrus Park Town Center. The 900-square-foot shop at 11695 Sheldon Road is called Nail Co. The shop's seven nail technicians offer manicures and pedicures by appointment. Owner Laura Linder said plans include a massage therapist in the near future. Nail Co. is open Monday through Saturday with appointments available from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. For information, call (813) 926-6978.
