Amtrak rewards frequent riders

Trains may still be slower than planes, but Amtrak passengers now can earn travel awards just like frequent fliers.

The Guest Rewards program gives at least two points for every dollar spent on Amtrak travel, which go toward train trips, hotel and car rental awards, retail certificates for stores and restaurants, even airline miles (on Continental, United and Midwest Express).

There's a 500-point bonus for enrolling online (http://www.amtrak.com) as long as you then travel within 90 days. You can also call (800) 307-5000 (for 400 bonus points).
