Sand Pine and Lake Myrtle Elementary Schools are sponsoring a 5K and 1-mile race at 8:30 a.m. March 24 in the Meadow Point Subdivision, Wesley Chapel. Fee is $15 for the 5K and $5 for the 1-mile race. Applications may be acquired at either school. Registration for Career and Technical Education classes will take place during the first two weeks of March. On Jan. 27, the Wesley Chapel Thespian Troupe competed in District XII competition. Superior scores went to: Jasmine Wilt, Jacquelynn Gillespie and Melissa Domench. All three will proceed to state-level competition in April in Tampa.Excellent ratings went to Alex Masters and Russell Gillespie. Yasmine Wilt also was honered with the Critics Choice award after being judged with the best monologue.
