MADEIRA BEACH -- Authorities have confirmed that Maryanne Jordan, the 57-year-old woman found killed in her home Saturday night, was strangled.

Detectives think her live-in boyfriend, 44-year-old Roger Mace Davis, strangled Jordan before committing suicide by hanging himself from the Pinellas Bayway Bridge.

The couple had dated since Christmas, but detectives say Jordan had told Davis to move out. Davis appeared agitated and drunk Thursday at his job on a commercial fishing boat.

He was told to go home and return for a fishing trip Friday, but he never came back. Jordan was last seen alive about 6 p.m. Thursday.
