NEW TAMPA/UNIVERSITY/LUTZPost-polio group to meet Tuesday The Post-Polio Support Group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Westcoast Brace & Limb's North Tampa office, 5311 E Fletcher Ave. The free meeting will include group discussions about post-polio syndrome. Attendees may bring any polio-related information to share. The group will create a polio survivors information packet. The meeting is open to polio survivors, family members and friends. For information, call Courtney at (813) 985-5000. Hospice sponsors support groups, memorial services LifePath Hospice is sponsoring a series of grief support group meetings and memorial services. The meetings and services are for anyone in the community who is grieving the loss of a loved one, regardless of whether that individual was under hospice care. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays at the following locations beginning next week through April 10: 8:30-10 a.m. at Alterra Clare Bridge, 1513 W Fletcher Ave.; 6-7:30 p.m. at LifePath Hospice office, 3010 W Azeele St.; and 6-7:30 p.m. at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation, 1465 Oakfield Drive in Brandon. Also, meetings will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning March 8 through April 12 at Homewood Residence, Galen Court in Sun City Center. For information, call (813) 877-2200. RUSKIN/SUN CITY CENTERCommunity association to sponsor tea dance The Tea Dance Committee of the Sun City Center Community Association is sponsoring the Big Band Tea Dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. The 20-piece Sun City Center Big Band, with band leader Kline Locher, will provide musical entertainment. The dress code is jackets/ties; no shorts. BYOB/Mix; ice and glasses will be provided. The dance will be at the Community Hall, 1019 S Pebble Beach Blvd. Tickets are $8 at the door. Tickets are also available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Association office, 1009 N Pebble Beach Blvd. for information, call (813) 634-7212.cq TAMPAJunior League of Tampa celebrates anniversary The Junior League of Tampa will celebrate its 75th anniversary from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Tampa Yacht Club, 5320 Interbay Blvd. All members and their spouses or dates are invited. The gala will honor its volunteers and the many hours of service to the community for the past 75 years. The Sherry Maricle Quartet of New York will provide musical entertainment. Also, Carol Stein of Orlando will delight guests at the piano bar and the Lester Lanin Orchestra of New York will play big band to contemporary dance music. Classes offered for parents of teens The "Active Parenting of Teens" class will be offered at Catholic Charities, 2021 E Busch Blvd. The six-session class will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning Monday and will continue through April 9. Barbara Kolar, a therapist, licensed mental health counselor and certified active parenting trainer, will facilitate the classes, which will include a video and discussion program. Mustang, Shelby, Ford Roundup is Saturday The 20th anniversary of the Mustang, Shelby and Ford Roundup will be held at Tampa Bay Center, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., east of Raymond James Stadium. Show registration will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday. All years are welcome. The event will include a car corral ($10 per vehicle to display cars for sale), judging and classes. Registration fee is $20. Vendor space fee is $15 per 10-by-20 feet. All displays and parts must be neat and arranged in an orderly manner; tables required. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Southeastern guide Dogs for the Blind.
