Many common household items and products are considered hazardous materials, and Pinellas County is setting up a special collection site from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Petersburg Administration Building, 2001 28th St. N, St. Petersburg.
Included items are computers, televisions, telephones and other electronic equipment, automotive fluids, household cleaners, fertilizers and pesticides, household batteries, pool chemicals, paints and painting products, fluorescent lamps and mercury containing devices.
The Household Chemical Collection Center, 2990 110th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, is open regularly from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the third Saturday of the month. Call (727) 464-7565.
