Classes at the parkBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published March 2, 2001 The Inverness Department of Parks and Recreation is offering the following classes at the Recreation Building in Whispering Pines Park. For information on any of the classes, please call the administration office at 726-3913. OIL PAINTING WORKSHOPS: The workshops are for ages 12 and up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 10 and April 7, at the Recreation Building in Whispering Pines Park. The instructor will be George Loring, certified Bob Ross instructor with 37 years experience in professional photography and 7 years teaching Ross' "wet on wet" technique of oil painting. The registration fee for each workshop is $40 and is limited to the first IO students. A supply list will be available at the Administration Office when registering. At the conclusion of a one-day workshop, participants will leave with a creation of their own. BASIC WATERCOLOR CLASSES: The classes, taught by Joe Bucciante, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., begin Wednesday. A registration fee for this eight-week class is $25 and is now being accepted from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays, at the Administration Office in Whispering Pines Park. These classes fill up quick, so don't wait until the last minute to register. RUBBER STAMPING CLASS: The class will be from 7 to 9 p.m. and beginsMonday. Students will learn techniques to create greeting cards, scrapbook pages, gift bags/boxes, wrapping paper and jewelry. All supplies will be provided and you will leave each class with a project.
