County fair offers new scholarships

INVERNESS -- Nell Mayberry, president of the Citrus County Fair Association, has announced that the Fair Board will be presenting three new $500 scholarships that will be funded with proceeds from the annual tractor show and pull.
They must be used within two years of graduation. To qualify, applicants must be exhibitors in the Youth World Division for the years 2000 and 2001, must be 14 years old as of March 9, and a Citrus County resident. Applicants will be asked to submit a written essay of 300 words titled "My Youth World Exhibit" to the fair office by 3 p.m. March 17. Applications are available at the fair office, 3600 S Florida Ave. (U.S. 41 S), Inverness.
