INVERNESS -- The Sixth Annual Nature Coast Dog Walk will be held, in conjunction with the Dog Fair, at 9:30 a.m., April 7, at the Citrus County Auditorium and Fairgrounds Parking Lot, U.S. 41.
Dog owners are invited to participate in this fundraiser for the Humanitarians of Florida Inc. by obtaining sponsors who pay to sponsor dogs.
Fifty percent of the funds raised go to assist the Humanitarians of Florida spay/neuter and emergency care programs.
The remaining funds are donated by the Humanitarians in equal shares to four working dog programs that provide, at little or no cost, dogs for blind, deaf, handicapped and Alzheimer's patients.
Registration and sponsor forms may be obtained at the following locations: the main office of the Bank of Inverness; Floral City Animal Clinic on U.S. 41; Inverness Animal Hospital on Sterling Street; Midway Animal Hospital on Suncoast Boulevard in Homosassa; Dumas Veterinary Hospital, Heights Avenue, Inverness; Countryside Animal Clinic, N Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills; and Dunnellon Animal Hospital, W Dunnellon Road, Dunnellon.
Forms may also be obtained by calling 344-8103; the forms will be mailed out.
The Humanitarians have set a goal of $15,000 for this year's event. Your participation helps them provide needed funds to control the animal population and provide working dogs to blind, deaf, handicapped and Alzheimer's patients.
