AUTO RACING: The Citrus County Speedway program will consist of short-track stock car racing in Late Models, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks and Street Legal Junkers classes. The quarter-mile track is 2 miles south of Inverness off U.S. 41 at the fairgrounds. Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. The first heat race is at 6:30. It's $10 for adult general admission, $8 for senior citizens and students to age 17, $2 for children 10 and under and $20 for a pit pass. An adult paid admission allows a child under 12 to be admitted free.
THE PEDAL BOATS CLUB: A fee is charged, and watercraft are available for those who need them. Informal gatherings include weekend cruising, nature site visits and fun racing for free. Pedal boats are available to rent. Kayakers are welcome. For more information, call (727) 525-8842.
THE WEST PASCO AUDUBON SOCIETY, a chapter of the Florida and National Audubon Society, meets on the second Thursday of each month (except for April, July and August) at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Congregational Church, 6533 Circle Blvd. in downtown New Port Richey.
