The Floridians will join church's Gospel Sing

Inverness Church of God is hosting The Floridians for its monthly Gospel Sing at 6 tonight and 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Floridians are based in Kissimmee and have recorded 12 albums, five CDs and three videos. They have been ministering east of the Mississippi from Maine to Florida since 1974. The church is at 416 U.S. 41 S.

Baptist church celebrates its ninth anniversary

North Oak Baptist Church of Citrus Springs will celebrate nine years this Sunday.

The church began in December 1991 as a new Southern Baptist work, meeting at the Citrus Springs Community Center. By March 1992, the church moved to the present location at N Citrus Springs Boulevard and N Elkcam.

During the nine-year period, the church has built twice, most recently a new sanctuary that was occupied in July 2000. Its membership has grown to more than 400.

Among the ministries offered are a preschool, before- and after-school for children through grade six, summer day camp, and ministries for children to adults.

All members who have joined since last March will be recognized in the evening service of celebration with refreshments after the service. Services for Sunday will be at 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Strawberry Social will raise funds for camps

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lecanto will host its annual Strawberry Social at 2 p.m. March 10.

This year the proceeds will be given to Woodlands Lutheran Camp in Monteverde and Luther Springs Camp in Gainesville. Aid Association for Lutherans Branch 6596 will donate $450 as matching funds for this project.

While visitors are enjoying dessert, they will be entertained with a variety of musical oddities. A donation of $3 per person is requested. The church is on County Road 486 across from the Ted Williams Museum in Citrus Hills.

Womens Club to take a virtual trip to Ireland

The Crystal River Christian Womens Club invites the public to attend its luncheon at Andres of Citrus Hills at noon March 13.

Tour guide Ron Davis will take the group on an imaginary trip to Ireland. Irish melodies will be presented by Garth Rotramel, and the inspirational speaker will be Linda Moore.

Donations sought for Women's Guild thrift sale

The Women's Guild of Beverly Hills Community Church will hold a spring rummage sale Friday and Saturday.

Good, usable household items and clothing may be donated. 82 Civic Circle. Call 746-3620.
