Brandon Family YMCA swim club plans session
Swimmers ages 6-15 can register for swim classes beginning Tuesday at the Brandon Family YMCA, 3097 S Kingsway Road. Swimmers must be able to swim at least 50 yards using rotary breathing. To register, call (813) 685-5402.
Lowry Park Zoo offers training class
Lowry Park Zoo is offering a six-week class covering zoo history, animal facts, conservation, artifact use and interpretive techniques. The class meets twice a week from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The meeting is at the new Zoo School, 1101 W Sligh Ave., near the entrance off N Boulevard. You must attend both sessions. The cost is $25 and includes a training manual. Workshop focuses on women's fitness
Workshop leader Betty Adams will tell you how to increase your physical activity, eat more healthfully, maintain a healthy weight and create your image. The four-week session features the "Choose to Move" program of the American Heart Association. Classes are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lightfoot Recreation Center, 10901 N 56th St. The cost is $21 for members and $31.50 for non-members.
