The Typing of the Dead
SYSTEM: Deamcast
MAKER: Sega
PRICE: $29.99
For those who want to learn to type, Sega has come up with this weird-sounding game. Killing zombies with fast key strokes may not sound fun, but it's totally addictive, especially for those who already can type.
Grade: A
SYSTEM: PlayStation 2
MAKER: Rockstar
PRICE: $49.99
This one had the makings of a killer game, with a staunch female protagonist in a futuristic setting. But camera and control issues stop it from being as fun as it could have been.
Grade: C+
SYSTEM: PlayStation 2
MAKER: EASports
PRICE: $49.99
Knockout Kings is better than before thanks to refined looks on PS2. The boxing is as in-depth as ever, but what's with all that loading between rounds?
Grade: B+
SYSTEM: PlayStation 2
MAKER: 989 Sports
PRICE: $49.99
Call it a guilty pleasure, but I enjoyed FaceOff for PS2. Even though it plays just like previous installments and doesn't look much better, it's fast and furious. Hockey fans should at least try it on for size.
Grade: B
SYSTEM: Game Boy Color
MAKER: THQ
PRICE: $29.99
Everything about this game, from the name to the levels, shouts cliche. The game play is extremely challenging and Action Man can pick from multiple weapons, but it all lacks charm.
Grade: C
SYSTEM: PlayStation
PRICE: $29.99
MAKER: Capcom
Players in need of a 2-D fix should check out this fifth X title. It's tried and true Mega Man action with huge bosses, lots of bouncing around and multiple fixtures for MM's cannon arm.
