Outdoors writer Terry Tomalin, left, huddles inside his tent Tuesday night with kayak partner Jon Willis in Cayo Costa State Park. Tomalin and Willis, who are competing in the Water Tribe Cruising Challenge, a 200-plus-mile sea kayak race from Fort De Soto to Key Largo, continued their journey down the west coast of Florida on Wednesday and were last sighted just north of Naples.

Part 3 of their five-part adventure will appear in Friday's sports section.
