SATURDAY: The Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze blues band will perform 9:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m. at Bourbon Street Concert Club, 4331 U.S. 19, New Port Richey. The band features Wally "Sweet Daddy" Greaney singing and playing harmonica and saxophone. Admission is $5. Authentic Cajun food will be available.

SATURDAY-SUNDAY: The 12th annual Will McLean Music Festival will be at the Sertoma Youth Ranch, 7 miles west of Dade City and 1.5 miles east of I-75 on County Road 41 at Exit 60. Folk musicians from Florida will perform on several different stages from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $20 for both days; $12 for Saturday; and $10 for Sunday. Camping hookups are $12; rough camping, $7. Call (352) 754-3082.

SUNDAY: The Hot Lips Good Time Dixieland Band will perform at 2 p.m. at New River Library, 34043 State Road 54, Zephyrhills. Admission is $2.50. Tickets are available at branch libraries and at the door.

SUNDAY: The Richey Concert Band will perform at 2:30 p.m. at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey. The program includes Greg Cannella's Arrival March, Song of the South, Baby Elephant Walk, the Heebee Jeebees, Unchained Melody and Sweet Caroline. Featured performers are baritone horn Mel Campbell and bass saxophone players Doug Deutsch and Steve Farlekas. Admission is $2. Parking is free.

SUNDAY: The Community United Methodist Church of Holiday will present Musical Love Fest at 5 p.m. at the church, 3214 U.S. 19, Holiday. Featured performers are Lori Hafer, John Lamp, Jerry Slosberg and Shirley Taylor. The program includes classical, gospel and jazz music. Admission is free, but an offering will be accepted.

TUESDAY: The film of Verdi's Otello will be shown at 10 a.m. at the Hudson Regional Library off Fivay Road, Hudson. The film stars Placido Domingo in the title role and Katia Ricciarelli as the ill-fated Desdemona. Admission is free.

SUNDAY: The Frog Prince Players will present the marionette show Jack and the Beanstalk at 2 p.m. at the theater, 210 S Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs. Look ahead

APRIL 1: Tickets are on sale for the annual Suncoast Sampler food gala at Gulf View Square mall to benefit the Pasco-Hernando Community College Foundation. More than 25 restaurants in Pasco and Hernando counties will serve samples of their specialties. Participants include Boston Cooker, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Chili's, CiCi's Pizza, Hops, Hooters, Johnny Leverock's, Scarpo's Maryland Seafood House and Outback Steak House. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and are available at Gulf View Square information booth or at any PHCC campus.

Curtain calls

MARCH 25: Applications are due today to audition on March 25 for the annual Reaching for the Stars talent competition held by the Alzheimer's Family Organization at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey. Those who audition pay a $10 audition fee ($5 for each additional member of a group, with a maximum charge of $20). The show itself will be at 2 p.m. May 6 at the Center for the Arts.
