Guild to hold 'Quilt-In' to benefit needy on Saturday

CRYSTAL RIVER -- The Creative Quilters Guild of Citrus County will sponsor a "Quilt-In" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Anne Episcopal Church hall, 9870 W Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. This event is in honor of National Quilt Day.

The day will be spent making small quilts to benefit the needy in Citrus County.

Interested people at any level of expertise are need to help achieve the goal of 75 quilts. Participants can spend any amount of time from one hour to the entire day at this event. Suggestions of local charities to receive the quilts are welcome.

Participants should bring basic sewing needs if they have them available: portable sewing machine, serger, thread, scissors, pins, rotary cutter/board. If not, participants are still needed. Donations of fabric are welcome. Bring a bag lunch. Snacks, dessert and beverage will be provided.
